Artist Statement 2015
My work is highly concentrated, controlled and calculated, while possessing boundless freedoms and liberties. My work is about manifesting vivid environments. It is a production of a subconscious conversation of manipulated feelings within a swirl of colors, patterns and symbols. In this way, my work has come to serve as my individual language, my way of expressing my perspective. My approach spans many mediums and approaches, including drawing, painting, light, technology, poetry, video, and installation. I view art as process (or remnants of processes), lending a wide definition to what art is and what art can be. I have become obsessed with the conceptual realm of my practice, seeking to push literacy beyond visual perception. I create my work within a mix of inconspicuous undertones that reference my personal linage while striving to function both within and without the context or knowledge of art history.
